The City of Niagara Falls is committed to providing opportunities for the community to stay active and healthy.

The Municipal Fee Assistance Pilot Program was developed to provide residents with additional subsidies to participate in municipal recreation programs.

Applications will be accepted year-round with subsidy approval for the current year. Applicants must reapply each calendar year.  Online applications are preferred, however, hard copies will be made available upon request.

Funding Details

Qualifying Families are eligible to receive:

  • Children 17 and under – 50% discount on all registered programs (1 per season). 
  • Families – Free Activity Pass for open swim and public skating at municipal pools and arenas for current calendar year access (A family is considered 2 adults and youth within the same household).

Eligibility Requirements

Residents of the City of Niagara Falls, Canada, with a household income that falls below the before tax Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) line for your family size. Children must be 17 and under to qualify for the program subsidy.

1 person - $23,549
2 persons - $29,316
3 persons - $36,041
4 persons - $43,759
5 persons - $49,631
6 persons - $55,976
7 persons or more - $62,321

NOTE: Funding for the Municipal Fee Assistance Program must be applied for annually for programming within that same year.  Approval of an application in a previous year does not guarantee funding in a future year.

IMPORTANT: Before proceeding make sure that you have the following documentation ready in digital (jpeg, png, pdf formats accepted) form to upload:
  • Proof of City of Niagara Falls residency - applicant and recipient(s) (drivers license, property tax bill, school transcript or utility bill)
  • Proof of income - family total (previous year's Notice of Assessment for each adult in your household from the Canada Revenue Agency)
  • Proof of age - applicant and recipient(s) (drivers license, birth certificate, school transcript)
NOTE: Families can register multiple family members through one application as long as they live in the same household (A household is deemed 2 adults with youth dependents).
